Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I have a HeadSpa with short or no hair?
    Yes - absolutely!
  • Can I have a HeadSpa with hair extensions?
    Unfortunately, it is not advised.
  • Can you have a HeadSpa when pregnant?
Due to the use of essential oils and the amount of time lying on your back during treatment, a HeadSpa cannot be carried out on pregnant women.
  • I suffer from psoriasis, is this is a suitable treatment?
Yes. A HeadSpa aims to help with any scalp condition such as psoriasis, dry/flaky scalp and alopecia.
  • Can I have a HeadSpa if I am breastfeeding?
Yes, but please make your therapist aware.
  • Can I have a HeadSpa if I have recently coloured or highlighted my hair?
The short answer is yes, but it should be avoided if it has recently been dyed as colour may be removed during treatment. It is best to give your hair a few washes first.
  • Can I bring a friend or children?
The aim of any HeadSpa appointment is for you to relax as much as possible so it is preferred you come to your appointment alone.
  • I find it difficult to switch off during a treatment
The treatment room is upstairs in the salon. Every effort is made to keep the room as relaxing as possible. It's a busy world and some background outdoor noise cannot be avoided. Calming music will be playing throughout your treatment. We use eye masks and can provide ear plugs should you require them.
  • Do you do couples treatments?
Unfortunately, not yet but hopefully in the future!
  • How often should I get a Head Spa treatment?
Depends on your scalp condition - healthy, normal scalps every 6 months, scalps with problems every 1-2 months.
  • Can I get my hair dried after treatment?
Hair can be blow dried and styled as an extra treatment by the Luvely Team otherwise your hair will be simply towel dried.
